How we research and update travel information.
Japan Planwise is built around practical travel decisions. We aim to explain trade-offs clearly, separate factual information from recommendations, and make it easy to verify time-sensitive claims.
Primary sources first
For fares, entry requirements, transport rules, operating conditions and other details that can change, we prioritize official or primary sources such as transport operators, tourism authorities and government agencies.
Last checked dates
Time-sensitive pages may show a “Last checked” date. This is the most recent date on which the relevant practical information was reviewed against its source trail; it is not a guarantee that every external service remained unchanged afterward.
AI-assisted workflow
AI may assist with drafting, structuring, summarizing source changes and quality checks. It is not treated as a source of truth for changing travel facts. Important practical claims are designed to be checked against primary or official references.
Corrections and updates
When a reliable source changes, affected content may be reviewed and updated. Material changes should also update the page’s revision date where appropriate.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships may influence which booking options are available to link to, but they should not determine factual conclusions or force a recommendation where a service is not a good fit.
