Haneda makes sense when
You value a smoother first and last day.
- Your hotel is in central or western Tokyo.
- You arrive late and want less transfer friction.
- The flight price and timing are similar to Narita.
Do not choose by airport name alone. Compare the flight, your arrival time and where you are actually staying in Tokyo.
For many Tokyo stays, Haneda is the easier arrival because it is closer to the city. But a better flight into Narita can still be the smarter overall choice.
Closer proximity can matter a lot after a long flight, with luggage, children or a late arrival.
Depending on your origin, Narita may offer a more useful fare, departure time or airline.
Look at the total journey from your origin airport to your Tokyo hotel. A cheap flight can lose some of its advantage if the arrival time creates a difficult transfer, while a slightly higher fare can be worth it if it gives you a much easier first day.
